Growing herbs and small vegetables

 In the following logs I am posting my home growing projects.

Seedlings herbs 2023

Indoor under plastic foil on 10.4.2023

1 x Thyme

2 x Coriander

2 x Parsley ‘Bravour’

1 x Parsley normal

2 x Basil

I am planning to move these to the outdoor (cold) greenhouse as soon as they are proper young plants

Once the (mini) greenhouse is set-up, I am planning to seed salad (Lollo Bionda) and Marjoram.

16.4.2023

Both Basil and Thyme sprout pretty fast. 

I immediately took the plastic off.

Now also the Coriander also started to make roots.

The Parsley is still under the plastic. I try to put the plastic off as soon as is starts growing, to avoid stretching. It will also increase root growth, because it get activated to evaporate water (more then when under the plastic because of the humidity). 

Now have to be sharp not to let it dry out. Because once a young sprout dries out, it will not make it.

I bought more Basil seeds, and some cherry tomato seeds. I am planning to put a few tomato young plants in a hanging basket, after the sprouting process. 

I also got some seeds for Squash and Reddish. But I think I will seed those in the greenhouse when it is ready.

As you can see, the coriander is stretching

I am planning to get these outside in the greenhouse, as soon as we put it together. I will take some pictures of the process. 

As the young plants are in the cooler surrounding, they will not stretch so much and grow more quietly. They have more time to absorb all nutrients from the soil.

Maybe I do seed some salad today. To give it a head start.

And finaly we have the mini greenhouse ready

I put the herb seedlings in the greenhouse for now, to slow them down a bit. Inside the house temperature is about 21 degrees Celsius, day and night. In the greenhouse, however the temperature drops to about a few degrees. This well make the plants a bit more strong, and more tastefull. 

A lot going on in the tiny greenhouse. In tge cirlcle I have planted a small peace of cellry, from the fridge. I also planted 5 small potatoes and one garlic clover. All from the fridge actually. 

In the bowl I planted all the herbs. Behind it the salad and the reddish. 

9.5.2023

Today I have put some raddish seeds in the soil. I have a small bucket with soil outside, I think it will grow fine there.

I also put more basil and parsley seeds in small pots, but they stayed inside for now. I have covered the pots with plastic again.

18.5.2023

Today I have been spacing the salad plants. I also took the bowl with herbs out of th greenhouse. In the next pictures you see that the cellery actually starts growing. Also the carlic is moving up. And I see the potatoes coming slowly.
